I have posted a lot of shots of this castle,time for some history(read)

This castle was being built by George Boldt(owner of the Waldorf Astoria hotel in NYC)for his wife in the early 1900's.His wife had become terribly sick,and died a short time later,at which time he ordered all work stopped,and the castle was never finished,and until 15 years ago,had sat neglected,and unfinished,until ,through many organizations,is being finished.not sure I agree with doing that,but they are doing a great job.If any SZer's get a chance to go to Alexandria Bay NY,this is a must see!!! #Castle #River #waterway #streamzoo #sznuts #history #1000islands
